Bee Hive Candles
For this class assignment, I designed packaging for a line of Bee Hive Candles—a set of natural beeswax tealights. The goal was to create a warm, inviting, and visually rich package that reflected the purity and handcrafted nature of the product. I focused on emphasizing the organic qualities of beeswax while making the design bold enough to stand out on a retail shelf.
The visual centerpiece of the packaging was a honeycomb pattern that wrapped around the box, paired with honey-drip illustrations that gave the design a luscious, golden texture. I used warm, amber tones to evoke the color of beeswax and honey, and chose bold, modern typography for the product name to create a strong shelf presence. The contrast between the structured honeycomb and the organic flow of the dripping honey helped balance elegance with energy.
I created the full die line, layout, and branding elements using Adobe Illustrator, ensuring the design would translate cleanly into print. The packaging included areas for product info, ingredients, and branding, all integrated into the visual flow. This project helped me explore how to communicate texture, scent, and warmth through design, and how to combine natural themes with bold, eye-catching visuals for a handcrafted product.
