Pabst Theater Posters
As part of a class assignment, I created a series of event posters for The Pabst Theater Group in Milwaukee to promote an upcoming Richard Marx concert. The goal was to design visually compelling posters that captured both the timeless style of Richard Marx’s music and the historic elegance of The Pabst venues.
Rather than creating one uniform design, I developed three unique posters, each with its own distinct vibe. The first featured rich velvet red and gold accents, inspired by the ornate, classic interiors of historic theaters—designed to reflect elegance and timelessness. The second poster drew direct inspiration from the cover art of Marx’s single “Don’t Mean Nothing,” using bold, graphic shapes and a gritty rock aesthetic to evoke the 1980s energy of his early career. The third took a more emotional, nostalgic route, featuring a young Richard Marx against a soft blue background, highlighting his legacy and long-standing connection with fans.
All posters were designed using Photoshop, allowing me to experiment with layout, texture, and typography while keeping production-ready quality in mind. I created variations for both print and digital formats. This assignment pushed me to think conceptually and visually translate different facets of an artist’s identity, while ensuring each design could stand alone and still feel part of a larger campaign. It strengthened my ability to tell stories through poster design and tailor aesthetics to suit both venue and artist.
